Well Dressing and Craft Fair at Tissington Markets and Fairs

Tissington Village Hall, Tissington, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1RA

May 26, 2022 to Jun 1, 2022

Dates - 26th, 27th 31st May and 1st June

9:30am - 5:00pm with free admission

The Well Dressing at Tissington is an annual celebration which lasts for one week. There are 6 wells in the village which are dressed with a design created entirely from natural materials including coffee beans, leaves and petals from local flowers. The dressings are erected on the eve of Ascension Day and remain in place until the following Wednesday evening.

During the course of the week, the event attracts thousands of visitors into the village, from across the country.

This year we are excited to be holding an indoor craft fair on the first two and last two days of Well Dressing week, showcasing the very best in local makers.

We offer a relaxed indoor shopping experience, where you can browse at your own pace and chat directly with the makers to learn more about the individual products available.

You will only ever find handmade items for sale at our events and we also try to minimise duplication as much as possible to ensure that each of our stalls offer something unique.

With free admission for visitors (and dogs are welcome too) as well as several other small businesses in the village, there is something for everyone to enjoy on their visit.

We hold regular craft fairs throughout the year with different stallholders exhibiting at each event.

For more details about our other upcoming craft fairs, please see our events calendar on Facebook.

Although there are steps up to the main entrance, alternative access is available for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility upon request. Disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are available.

Only 3.5 miles from Ashbourne on the A515 to Buxton.

During the Well Dressing week there is a one way system in operation for vehicles coming into the village.

There is a different entrance into the village than usual but this is clearly sign posted on the A515.

There is a small charge for parking in the village and all funds raised go to local charities. Disabled parking is available.

Once in the village on foot, head past Tissington Hall and keep left. When you see the duck pond, turn left and the village hall is on the left hand side.
