A kids drop-off session filled with fun and discovery at Shining Cliff Woods near Ambergate.
Please note - the event is for children aged 5 years and over.
In the morning, we will learn how to be safe around the campfire, different ways to get the fire lit and do some campfire cooking. There will be a chance to practice some safe fire lighting skills.
Shining Cliff Woods is known for its resident charcoal burners of the 17th century, and so we will also make our own charcoal to use for some creative activities. We will do some cooking on the woodland BBQ, but please send your child with a packed lunch too, just in case they don't like it!
There will also be hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows included.
After lunch, we will head to the woodland stream where we will become stream detectives and discover who lives in the water with some stream dipping and identification. We can have fun creating mini boats to sail away! There will be lots of fun and games. Be prepared to get a little bit wet!
