Join us at Shining Cliff hostel and have a go at making your own Winter Wreath using locally sourced natural materials.
Our focus is on using materials that have a low carbon footprint and ensuring we harvest materials sustainably. We aim to provide a supportive, welcoming environment, where 'having a go' is far more important than what we produce!
There will be hot drinks and winter treats available to help yourself to as we work (although we are firmly avoiding the word 'Christmas' or 'Festive'!)
The session will start at 10:30am at the private woodland car park, as we will need to harvest the hazel sticks to make our wreath bases with (thanks to the landowner for permission to do this). We will then take our hazel sticks down to Shining Cliff hostel, where all the natural resources to make our wreaths will be set out in the communal lounge. We can then chat, have hot drinks, and attempt to make our very own Winter Wreath.
Need to know: We will be walking along uneven and sometimes muddy woodland track, so do wear sturdy footwear. (It is a ten minute walk to the hostel and we will be stopping off along the way.) You may want to bring some indoor shoes to wear in the hostel. Bring your own packed lunch. Hot drinks are provided. Directions and parking information will be provided with booking confirmation. Please do refer to these as a satnav will take you to the wrong end of the woods!
This event is for adults only.
Dogs are not permitted at this event.
