Pride In Belper - Derby Days Out

Pride In Belper

On Saturday 5th August, Belper is bursting with Pride as it once again celebrates the soul-affirming event - Pride in Belper. Strutting into action at 12noon on Belper’s Market Place, everyone is welcome to come and celebrate who they are. The Pride Parade or ‘Strutt’ walks proudly through the town, ending on the Memorial Gardens and there is a shorter route for those with accessibility needs.

The day is packed with colour, love, fun, laughter, friendship, and community. The fabulous ‘families area’ is on the Memorial Gardens and features sessions for arts, crafts, sporting challenges, and a cracking quiz, as well as a special storytelling with our resident Drag Queen, Diana B-Tease! Our Children’s Champions will be working hard to ensure everyone is able to enjoy themselves just as they are. There will be music playing throughout the day and into the evening.

The Market Place plays host to a plethora of Pride-tastic events and there will be a diverse and delicious range of food and drink available to suit all tastes and requirements. The marvellous Mobiloo will be situated on the Market Place to ensure that the event facilities are accessible to all needs.

Pride in Belper is based on the values of sustainability, accessibility, inclusivity and diversity. The day marks a celebration of who we are and where we are, our lived experiences as people, and our living together on this precious planet. You are invited to bring your whole, unedited self and spend a day in the generous warmth of spirit that envelops Pride in Belper. If you have canine companions, they have an event of their very own too! On Sunday 6th August, the Pride in Belper Dog Show leaps into action from 2pm on the Memorial Gardens. Just turn up on the day and your Pride pup could wag their way to a rosette or even winner’s trophy. It is a wonderful weekend, and you are all very welcome here.
