Exploring Alport & Youlgrave, Derbyshire
Last weekend we went exploring around the picturesque villages of Alport and Youlgrave in Derbyshire! We strolled along the stream, one where there is a swimming point to take a dip in - and yes, there were actual people doing just that in 3 degree temperatures! We then headed up to the charming village of Youlgrave, breathing in the fresh countryside air, and soaking up the rich history that is around every corner. From quaint cottages, a church, village shop and bakery too, this place is a true gem!
Youlgrave boasts historic buildings that transport you back in time, making every step feel like a journey through a storybook. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or a history buff, this corner of Derbyshire has something for everyone.
Wander along scenic trails, and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding Peak District. Don't forget to stop by the local pubs and tea rooms to savor some delicious treats and meet the friendly locals.
