DDO Charity Calendar - Derby Days Out

DDO Charity Calendar

In September we were delighted to launch our brand new 2024 charity calendar in partnership with local photographers Ashley Franklin and Ian Daisley.

The calendar coincided with the launch of the very first Derwent Valley Mills photo-book which showcases the beauty within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Copies of the book are now available. The calendar features an array of stunning images taken from the book and would make a great Christmas gift!

Calendars (and the book) can be purchased from The Mill Shop at Cromford Mills. We (Derby Days Out) will be at the Belper Food festival on Sunday 3rd December where we will be selling the calendars. We will be located in The Ritz Cinema at the top of King Street. You can purchase a calendar from us here. If you'd like to reserve a calendar, please email us on: [email protected] with the subject Calendar Reservation and we can put one aside for you to collect at the food festival. We will be there from 10am until 2pm. Calendars are just £10.00 and there's a limited amount.

We would like to say a special thank you to White Peak Distillery for sponsoring the calendar. Located at the The Wire Works, Matlock Road in Ambergate, White Peak Distillery is Derbyshire’s first full-scale craft distillery, making award-winning whisky, gin and rum with a proud Derbyshire provenance. They have a shop on site and provide fantastic distillery tours and tasting sessions, a perfect gift as we run up to Christmas! To find out more head over to: https://www.whitepeakdistillery.co.uk/

We're proud to say that profits from the sale will be split between our two chosen charities: Family Support Derbyshire and the Arkwright Society.

Family Support Derbyshire is a registered charity that has been delivering a family focused support service in Derby City for over 27 years. They are a support network of knowledge, information, resources and community provision to help with the practical elements of being a parent; they are a well-established, professional organisation that evaluates regularly to ensure their delivery best meets the needs of their volunteers, families and young children. Family Support Derbyshire is a preventative service that is part of the wider health care economy and partners with statutory services in education, health and social care. Family Support Derbyshire aims to support and strengthen local families to enable our youngest and most vulnerable children to have the best possible chance to be successful in life. The Arkwright Society is an independent charity that is doing everything it can to continue to protect Cromford Mills for the future. The Society has been engaged in the practical conservation of industrial monuments and educational activities.  It is a registered charity aimed at promoting education and conservation, focusing on the Cromford Mills site. The overarching aim is to restore all the surviving mill buildings, converting them to mixed-use alongside expanding the visitor offer to meet the high standards that come with being part of a World Heritage Site.  Money raised helps the Society move forward with these final phases, making Cromford Mills a better place for everyone and saving it for future generations.
