Babies Who Brunch - February Recommendations! - Derby Days Out

Babies Who Brunch - February Recommendations!

Those post Christmas blues can make January a looooooong long month. It's 1,069 days until payday, the mornings are dark, the nights are dark, the kids are fighting over the selection boxes and oh and let's not forget the ice and snow.

So let's brunch!!!

We love to spend a Saturday afternoon wandering at some of the Marina's that Derby, Nottingham (and yes, Staffordshire) have to offer. There's something about being so far away from the sea but still getting that 'seasidey' vibe, that's if you haven't hit the 2p machines at Matlock Bath. If an address is Staffordshire but the postcode is Derby then it still counts as a Derby Day Out right?!

We had a lovely afternoon wandering around Barton Marina  and popped in to The Boat House Kitchen & Bakery by Poms for a slice of cake, coffee and of course - milkshake. With Daltons Dairy ice cream from Ashbourne it was bound to be a winner. It was so big Sister Sass had to ask for a take away cup to bring it home. There's only so much sugar she can be jacked up on in one sitting. The cakes supplied by Silver Tree Bakery were also delicious. Although the choice somewhat depleted but I'm taking that as they're so good they sell out quickly!

It's great for babies. There's clean high chairs, crayons for entertainment and a baby change in the building next door.

Oh and if you don't have a baby - take your dog, they're also welcome!!

When you've finished venturing south west of the city then have a wander out east. Now this one really is in a NG postcode but it's still the correct side of the Trent, so we're claiming it.

A solid choice in Beeston is Bistro 66 - we simply love this place. The atmosphere, the food, the staff; we'll even call it the best brunch spot in Beeston! (It has nothing to do with their selection of breakfast cocktails, honest). ðŸ˜³

We chose a Bloody Mary, Classic Bellini, Big Bistro Breakfast and Italian Eggs.

There's a reason we go back on a regular basis - the food is top notch delicious, and the staff go the extra mile in helping accommodate the babies needs without having to be asked. Please go show them some love! And if you can wangle it on a Sunday, there's a farmers market on every Sunday in February at The Garage in Chilwell where you can buy more tantalising treats to take home.

So what are you waiting for? Get your coat, and get brunching! (Breakfast cocktails fully encouraged!)
