Normanton Library Launch Day! - Derby Days Out Blog
Date
18th November 2019

Normanton Library, St Augustine's Community Centre, Almond St, Derby DE23 6LX

To mark the opening of the new Normanton Library on Wednesday 27 November 2019, a series of events for families have been put together to showcase what the new library can offer.

Authors, storytellers and face painters, internet sessions and a special CSI Whodunit Event called ‘Burglary in the Library’ are all on the line-up with the events spread over four days.

Children’s storytellers and poets will delight the first visitors at 10.30am and 1.30am on Wednesday 27 November with wonderfully engaging readings and recitals.

From the ribbon being cut when the doors open right through to 7pm there will be information stands where people can find out more about children’s services, code clubs, ebooks, eaudiobooks, the Local Studies library, the home library service and The Reading Project. The events will then continue right through to the 30th November with plenty of fun for children and grown-ups!

During the opening events, people will have the opportunity to have a look around the additional refurbishments to the first floor.
