A magical, socially-distanced winter woodland experience, complete with a meet and greet with Santa, has opened its doors at the Derby Centre this December.
From Friday 4th December – Thursday 24th December, families are invited to wander through Santa’s Winter Woodland, where they can enjoy an enchanting winter world, before safely meeting the man himself sitting atop his sleigh and pose for a won-deer-ful socially distanced family photo.
Armed with a bag full of presents, Father Christmas will be providing a gift for every little visitor in attendance, and his elves will also be on hand to guide the way, ensuring everybody stays safe and off the naughty list.
To ensure visitor safety, families are asked to pre-book tickets and will be allocated a specific timeslot in advance. Timings will be spread out to allow ample time between groups, and enhanced cleaning regimes and hand sanitising stations are in place throughout.
Once visitors have made their way around the wintery woodland, they will have the chance to purchase their photograph with Santa in a variety of festive formats, including printed in a bauble to hang on their Christmas tree or even in a snow glove, perfect for displaying at home. There’s also a wide range of Christmas-themed keyrings, magnets and framed photographs available for families to choose from.
Families can journey through the brand-new festive experience on Level 2, next to Paperchase every day until Christmas Eve, before Santa flies off to the North Pole for his Christmas duties.
There are a number of safety measures in place throughout the Derby Centre to keep visitors safe, including additional staff in place to help manage footfall, social distancing measures and face masks worn throughout, as well as hand sanitising stations.
