Head for the Heights this week to capture the flavour of a great day out!
You'll find extra special tasty treats and special offers in the cafe and restaurant, fine ales and wines in the bars, as well as information about the local food producers from around Derbyshire who supply the Estate’s kitchens.
Between Saturday 7th and Sunday 15th of September, the Heights is shining the spotlight on their Vista Restaurant, licensed bar and Terrace café in a celebration of food and drink for nine days. It’s a great time to book a table with a view in the restaurant, and an opportunity to try a daily special from the menu.
David Thornton, Head of Marketing for the Heights explains: “Everyone knows about our cable cars, but many guests are not aware that we have such a superb restaurant here. The Kitchen team have done a brilliant job creating some imaginative and tasty dishes this year, so we wanted to move them centre stage and encourage our guests to experience this aspect of a visit. It’s also given us a great opportunity to highlight the local food producers we work with, including the award-winning Matlock Meadows who supply wonderful ice cream, and Grain Artisan, a young gin making company who have come up with some exceptional flavours”.
The Heights has created a few special offers to reward dining visitors during the celebration.
Children dining in the Vista restaurant with accompanying adults will receive a free upgrade to their main meal: a complimentary dessert and wild juice drink.
Vista restaurant diners will receive a 20% discount on a return visit meal (valid for 12 months).
Arrive early and enjoy a hearty breakfast in the Vista restaurant. £1 off between 10.00am and 11.30am
Music is the food of love, and on both Sundays live music can be heard on the patio outside the café and restaurant between 12.30pm and 2.00pm.
Every day the Vista Restaurant will feature a different local dish of the day, whilst the licensed bar has a gin of the day, and the café offers a cake of the day.
With so much good food and drink to enjoy, you’ll want to explore the Estate’s footpaths and woodlands walks to burn a few calories, take in the summit's fresh air, and enjoy the rest of the attractions and exhibition galleries.
Once you purchase your cable car ticket to the summit, all the guided tours, exhibitions, play areas and galleries are free to enjoy.
Tickets cost £18 per adult (£17 when purchased online), with discounts for family groups, children, seniors, and special concessionary rates for those who arrive by train or bus. To see the full range of prices and event details, go to www.heightsofabraham.com
Guests who arrive during the celebrations will receive a special commemorative booklet that highlights some of the local food and drink suppliers who supply the kitchens as well as information about what the Heights is doing to lessen their impact on the environment. The company has recently replaced all plastic cups with the innovative Vegware tumblers made from vegetable extracts and completely bio-degradable.
